Plenty more happening in the world of Oklahoma sports this weekend than just the NCAA men’s tourney …
Oklahoma State got a big W in the women’s tourney, an 85-73 win over East Tennessee State, a 14 seed. The takeaway from this game though was the support Andrea Riley got. Maria Cordero scored 23 and grabbed nine boards, and in a one-and-done format, it’s good to know that on an off night (relatively), your team can get a boost elsewhere.
This bodes well for the Cowgirls, who get either Ohio State or Florida State next.

Speaking of the Pokes, Coleman Scott picked up an individual title at the college wrestling championships in St. Louis, pinning Iowa’s Joey Slaton.
According to the Associated Press, “it was the first NCAA title for Scott, a 133-pounder who was a member of Oklahoma State’s national championship teams in 2005 and 2006.”

OU’s baseball team lost a second straight to Nebraska on Saturday, a 4-3 decision in Lincoln, Neb. Andrew Doyle scattered four runs on nine hits over 7 2/3 innings — but the Sooners made a valiant comeback attempt in the ninth, scoring three but falling a bit short.
Oklahoma is now 17-7 on the season and 0-2 in Big 12 play.

OSU baseball got a win against Texas A&M in Stillwater today, thanks to a pair of RBIs from Rebel Ridling. Tyler Lyons struck out seven.
The Pokes improved to 14-6 overall and 2-3 in Big 12 play.

Just in case you’re curious, Oral Roberts picked up a baseball win on Saturday as well — 5-4 over Dallas Baptist.

Still no word on Oklahoma Baptist and Oklahoma City in the NAIA tourney, but if both teams keep winning, they could see each other in a national championship game.
