I never wanted to be a coach, at least fulltime. I don’t think I have the patience.
It is fun, though, to moonlight as a coach when given the opportunity.
I tried my hand at coaching against Mark Rodgers during a fall baseball scrimmage at OU, I lost. Now I have stepped it up a notch. Today, OSU running backs coach Curtis Luper gave me the opportunity to coach the Cowboys RB’s at spring practice. I am grateful for the chance but I won’t be applying for coaching jobs anytime soon.
Keith Tostan told me I should keep my day job and he’s probably right.
I will say this, if Loop needs a job he is a natural-born broadcaster. He would be good, really good.
I want to thank Mike Gundy and Coach Luper again for the chance to put on a visor and whistle but I think I’ll stick to covering the Cowboys not coaching them.
