The big news from spring football in Stillwater is how well the defense is playing. A 9-7 score in the Orange/White game is not what anyone expected. The offense was average but the defense really shined.
Mark Rodgers makes a great point about the improvement in the offense from year one to year two under Larry Fedora. It was night and day. It looks like a similar improvement could be in store for the Cowboys defense in the second season under Tim Beckman.
The defense was 101st in total defense last year. If this squad can find a way to get into the top 60 and the offense continues to produce big numbers, 9 wins is not out of the question for the Pokes. I know the schedule is difficult but a major improvement on D will make OSU legit regardless of who they play.
